The Movie:

Terry (Alexander Skarsgård) and Bob (Michael Peña) are two crooked cops who frame and blackmail criminals all over town. Looking for the ultimate pay-off, they try to extort a strip-club manager (Caleb Landry Jones) and his eccentric, junkie boss (Theo James), but get more than they bargained for when their hair-brained scheme uncovers a bigger, darker secret.

Buddy cop movies are some of my favorites to watch and it’s been a good while since I’ve seen a legitimate one. Now, what I loved right from the start of this film was the fast paced banter between the two lead characters. It’s hilarious and inappropriate and times but they each play it very straight and that makes it even funnier. Pena is a fantastic comedic actor and Skarsgard was the perfect person for him to play off of since he’s a bit more serious and that made for some great moments between the two. Their chemistry is undeniably great and I could easily see this as a jumping off point for a sequel or two. I can honestly see some potential in these characters. The story itself played out like a darker version of a Bad Boys movie but without the spectacle of it which may have hurt it in that sense but it still is a very fun movie to watch as far as action goes. With plenty of cheesy action movies out there it’s good to know that there are some awesome gems that are entertaining as hell so if you get a chance then I highly suggest checking it out. 7/10
