The Movie:

Drug lord William Spinks (John Savage) has a curious obsession with Sadie Hill, and uses family friends Bobby and Frank (John Corbett and Jerry O’Connell) to get to her. But when Sadie’s death jeopardizes a major deal, Bobby and Frank set out to find a replacement – a lookalike (Gillian Jacobs) – to fool Spinks. The shady plan propels an ex-basketball champion, a deaf beauty, an addict, and an aspiring actress into an unlikely romance and a desperate quest to start over.

The premise of this film is definitely a unique one. It plays out a bit like slightly less version of a Tarantino kind of story but that doesn’t mean that it was a bad one. It was complex, full of suspense and had plenty of thrills with a great group of actors. One of the things that I liked the most was that there were a number of different story elements that all converged into each other. I will say that it wasn’t the best crime thriller that I’ve seen but it was really good in it’s own right. The third act of the film closed everything up rather nicely and didn’t leave any loose ends or plot holes which is always appreciated but I feel like it could’ve been drawn out or expanded just a little bit more. I’m normally used to seeing Long and O’Connell in comedic roles so it was a good change of pace to see them be hard edged and dramatic. As a film that will probably fly under the radar of many I’m here to let you all know that it’s worth checking out. 7/10

Special Features:
