The Movie:

Marvel makes cinematic history again with the most unexpected team-up in the universe! Joining forces for the first time ever, Marvel’s_Iron_ManandHulk_Heroes_United_Photo01Hulk’s pulverizing brute strength and Tony Stark’s high-tech brainpower come together to face off against the ultimate enemy. When “Zzzax,” a seemingly invincible, energy devouring monster threatens to destroy the planet, Marvel’s unlikeliest pairing of Avengers is mankind’s only hope. Alone, neither can defeat the awesome power of Zzzax. As a duo, they just might have a chance – if they can find a way to work together without smashing heads before time runs out!

I love the idea of having Marvel Team Up type of movies and to have them be animated makes it even better. There’s so much more that can be done in animated features and this was a prime example. With a villain such as Zzzax it made more sense to introduce him in this manner due to him being primarily pure energy and he looked terrific. The same can be said for Iron Man Marvel’s_Iron_ManandHulk_Heroes_United_Photo03and Hulk as well. Their movements were so fluid and the detail that went into each character made them look so realistic that at times I felt like I was looking at cutsecenes from a video game. The humor in it was balanced just right and wasn’t overly cheesy which was good and the action sequences were fast paced and looked like expertly choreographed fight scenes. The one thing that I wasn’t too keen on was Hulk’s speaking ability. Usually Hulk speaks in grunts and broken english and in the film he actually spoke in full sentences. I’m sure they decided to do it for the sake of having it a bit more appealing for kids which in that aspect I totally understand but for the hardcore comic fans it may make them cringe just a bit. This movie was a whole lot of fun to watch and has potential to be a starting off point for more of these team up films. I would like to see some of the lesser known heroes team with the more mainstream ones. The film even had an after credits scene just like live-action films that could give a small hint into the future features. This is a great movie to check out if you’re a fan of the characters and the kids will most definitely love it.
