The Movie:

Christine (Nicole Kidman) is a woman who wakes up every day remembering nothing, due to a mysterious accident in her past. But when she tries to piece together her former life, she uncovers terrifying secrets that leave her with no one she can trust, including her doctor (Mark Strong) and even her husband (Colin Firth).

Just taking a look at the cast lineup you can tell that this is a strong group of actors and you can more or less expect great performances. As the film started it played out a bit like the movie 50 First Dates……except not funny at all. You know that almost immediately that something isn’t right and not everything is as what it seems. That’s where the story pulls you in takes you for a ride. Even as the revelations began to unfold I found myself doubting what any of the characters were saying and found it really hard to trust what they were telling Christine. This film takes you down a road of lies and treachery with plenty of mystery thrown in there. There are slight glimpses into what may have happened leading up to the events in the film but not too much that it gives everything away. I started to piece things together but at the same time I was still aware that there could be a swerve in the storyline here or there and that was something that I liked a lot. I kept me engaged in the story completely. Kidman and Firth give stellar performances in ALL of their scenes together. They played off of each other so perfectly and Kidman’s looks towards Firth in the second act spoke volumes. Strong is someone that exudes intensity even when he isn’t trying. Every line that came from his mouth was believable he as well gave an incredible performance. This is one that everyone should go out and buy. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. 8/10
