Bambi – The Walt Disney Signature Collection: Blu-ray Review

The Movie:

a fawn named Bambi joins his new friends, a young rabbit named Thumper and a skunk kit named Flower in happily exploring the woods. Bambi is captivated with a young doe named Faline, and he learns from his doting mother and his father — the Great Prince of the Forest — that besides the delights of the forest, there is danger in open meadows where hunters can see them. Though fear and tragedy touch Bambi’s life, another spring brings renewal.

Honestly what’s left to say about this fantastic classic that hasn’t been said already. This movie has everything from life lessons, friendships, love and loss all rolled into one. I have a deep appreciation for this movie as it was the first Disney film that I ever saw as a kid. I remember being wide eyed and watching it with amazement and to this day I still have that same feeling. The animation and the way they were able to make every animal seem so real has a lot to do with it. You add that together with the great score and you get a movie that will be loved for decades to come. The best thing about this release as well is the fact that I get to share another Disney classic with my kids who are now experiencing them for the first time. I missed out on the Diamond Editions so I’m really thankful for The Walt Disney Signature Collection mainly because I don’t have to spend $100 on the aftermarket for a movie that I love so much. If you’re like me and missed out before then definitely consider grabbing this one as soon as you can because it’s definitely worth it. 9/10
