ABC’s Of Death 2: Blu-ray Review

The Movie:

ABC’s OF DEATH 2 is the follow-up to the most ambitious anthology film ever conceived with productions spanning from Nigeria to UK to Brazil and everywhere in between. It features segments directed by over two dozen of the world’s leading talents in contemporary genre film. The film is comprised of twenty-six individual chapters, each helmed by a different director assigned a letter of the alphabet. The directors were then given free rein in choosing a word to create a story involving death.

Much like the original film this one is insanely great, grotesque and bad all at the same time. With an anthology film such as this you are bound to get some hits and some misses. Just like before the funnest part of the experience of this film is trying to guess what letter the directors are using stand for. This iteration is a bit harder to gauge what the actual word they use is (and some are very left field) but one thing is for sure: They are creative as hell. It starts off really strong with “A” and from there it’s a series of hits and misses for me but one in particular that creeped me out was “P”. For some reason there is something about coming across someone in a pitch black room and…..well you have to see it. It’s kind of a throwback to older 50’s comedies but with a very different twist. Then there’s “M” which gives a stylistic slow motion approach to what seems like a zombie movie in the beginning. That one looked so awesome the way that it was done yet so grotesque which is perfectly suited for this film. Even with some of the misses it still really is an entertaining and impressive film that I think every horror lover will get a kick out of. 7/10
