The Upside: Blu-ray Review

The Film:

Recently paroled ex-convict, Dell Scott (Hart) strikes up an unusual and unlikely friendship with a quadriplegic billionaire, Phillip Lacasse (Cranston) in this hilarious and heartfelt comedy. From worlds apart, Dell and Phillip form an unlikely bond, bridging their differences and gaining invaluable wisdom in the process, giving each man a renewed sense of passion for all of life’s possibilities.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t expect to see a movie involving Hart and Cranston. However, they both proved that they could both take on virtually any role and be amazing. Seeing Hart take on a dramatic role was actually really refreshing. Even though the story was a bit more serious than what he’s ever taken on he still managed to a lot of humor and heart into it as well. Cranston I felt like had a tough task at portraying a quadriplegic but he did it so well. I thought that the film did a great job and did it in a way that was very respectful yet very honest with people living in that situation. We also get a great look at two different people from two different walks of life coming together and learning from each other which a fantastic message to see play out. I love seeing films that have tons of heart and have a premise that we can all learn from. I can, without a doubt, recommend this movie to any and everyone. Definitely check this one out if you get a chance!
