Season Overview:

Today, for better or worse, the power of religion touches all of our lives, no matter what our faith. This is Morgan Freeman’s journey to discover how our beliefs connect us all. This is the quest of our generation. This is the Story of God.

From the start this show gives you an overall look at religion from various angles and that’s the one thing that really attracted me to it. Everyone has a certain religion or beliefs that they follow and to see each view being shown in a way that isn’t insulting to others is really great. The season is divided into 6 episodes and they delve into everything from life after death, the apocalypse and even creationism. It’s an amazing and intelligent look at it all and to top it off it’s hosted by God himself…..well the movie version of him anyway. Freeman could talk about paint drying and it would be amazing. Thankfully this show is a lot more intriguing than that. Even if you’re not a person that is very religious, this show explains everything in a way that is easy to comprehend. The show also provides intelligent discussions with educators, scientists, archaeologists and many others which legitimizes every topic they get into. This show is definitely one that I can easily recommend to the masses and I can’t wait to see what topics are covered in season 2. 9/10

The Story Of God is available NOW on DVD from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment
