The Movie:

Five friends try to recover from the trauma of being kidnapped last Halloween by the Blue Skeleton – a group that takes “extreme haunt” to another level – by facing their fears in order to move on. As they go back out on the road to experience more haunted house attractions, signs of the Blue Skeleton start appearing, and a new terror begins…

I enjoyed the original film quite a bit (probably because I didn’t see what was coming) but when I heard that a sequel was made I wasn’t certain in what other direction they could take it. The main plot of the film kind of made me scratch my head a bit as they go in and do the same exact thing that almost killed them in the first place. To me it made little to no sense and they should’ve taken it in a different direction for it to feel fresh. I did however like seeing the various Haunted Houses in the film and how different each one was. The “movie” aspect of it felt like it didn’t really pick up until the last 20 minutes and then it went pretty nuts. It’s kind of weird because I like the documentary aspect to it and I also liked the last 20 minutes of the movie but when putting them both together it just felt off. I think if there was a bit more action from the Blue Skeleton group throughout the movie then maybe my opinion would’ve changed a bit. It’s not terrible but it’s not exactly what I expected. If you really liked the original then there’s a good chance that you’ll like this one just the same but I felt it was a bit underwhelming. 6/10
