This weeks episode starts off with a loud crash.
We see a military helcopter with about four passengers aboard crash after some sort of malfuction within. Michonne (with her 2 zombie mules) and Andrea witness the crash (give or take) about 300 yards away. As they get to the crash they quickly investigate the area and find one soldier sliced in half at the waist. That’s when they get surprised by a group of unknown men driving up to the crash site in pick up trucks. Michonne and Andrea stay crouched down behind some tall grass and the zombie mules are chained up to a tree nearby. The men check out the area walk up to the dead soldier and see he’s not dead anymore. They finish of the Walker with a knife to the head and head to the helicopter. They pull a solider out that seemed to have survived and they start heading back to their trucks until they start hearing commotion coming from Michonne’s pets. She tries to quiet them down but has no other choice but to decapitate them before the men start heading their way. The guys don’t hear anything anymore and continue on their way. Just when they think everything is safe they hear a voice behind them. They turn around and it’s none other than MERLE sporting a new prosthesis (where his hand used to be) that holds a knife in it. Andrea faints.
S#!&$ about to hit the fan.
The group quickly grabs a food cart and throws Hershel up on top and wheel him out at the same time the newly discovered inmates attempt to come out to see what’s going on. When the get back to their cellblock Daryl stands guard at the entry way anticipating that they were being followed and of course, here come the inmates. After a brief confrontation the two group head outside and give the inmates a rundown of what’s been going on in the world seeing as they have been locked up inside. Rick quickly decides to make a deal with the inmates to clear out a cellblock for them in exchange they get half of their food.
Last night The Walking Dead made its return back to AMC. The premiere episode starts off a couple of months down the road by the look of Lori’s pregnant belly. Rick and the gang (not to be confused with Kool and the Gang) are scouring a site for supplies when the zombies come knocking. One by one each survivor took each zombie out that was in their way with ease…….even (sometimes) annoying little Carl was in on the fun. From the looks of it they have all become a fairly well oiled machine, working together and watching each others backs which is a long way from where they first started.
The third season of The Walking Dead is gearing up to be a great one. When we left the group at the end of season two they were picking up the pieces from the undead assault on the farm. With their home destroyed they made their way out and decided to regroup. The ending scene showed the infamous prison. If you have read the comics then you know what could possibly be in store for the group. I say “possibly” because it seems like they are trying to keep some aspects of the comics but also make things completely different. Which is great! It gives us all an element of surprise. With Rick declaring that they are no longer a democracy it looks like the gloves are off and he’s becoming someone different.
The regular cast seems to consist of more or less the same people but there are a few newbies in there as well. Danai Gurira joins the cast as Michonne and David Morrissey as The Governer. These two are major characters in the comics and will no doubt make the third season rather interesting.
Season 3 of The Walking Dead premieres Sunday October 14th at 9/8c on AMC
SIDE NOTE: DISH NETWORK DOES NOT CARRY AMC!!!!
