The Movie:

When DEA task force leader Breacher Wharton (Arnold Schwarzenegger) storms a heavily armed cartel safe house, rogue members of his team use it as a cover to steal $10 million in cash. But just when they think their secret is safe, agents are killed off one-by-one, and everyone is a suspect, including the squad itself.

We’ve all seen Arnold movies over the years. Whether you’re a fan or not you’ve had to have seen at least one of his films. Now that he isn’t The Governator anymore he’s been getting back to what he does best…..making entertaining action movies! This one is a bit different though. As soon as I heard that it was directed by David Ayer (the man behind End Of Watch) and written by Skip Woods (who wrote Training Day) I knew that this was going to be good. Arnold seems to portray the usual “hard ass” but that’s where the the similarities stop. What we are treated to is a film that has no clear cut heroes or villains. It sits in a gray area where you aren’t entirely sure how you feel about certain characters. Some do bad things for understandable reasons and some do bad things just because. The thing is, you can’t really tell who is telling the truth and who isn’t and that’s the great thing about the film. It really does keep you guessing and maybe changing who you believe along the way. The supporting cast, which included Joe Manganiello, Josh Holloway, Terrence Howard, Mireille Enos and a barely recognizable Sam Worthington, really drove the film completely. Each has a certain presence about them that add a great deal of personality to the film. Seeing all of them interact with one another made it look like the making of the film was nothing short of a blast. I can, without a shadow of a doubt, recommend this to everyone. If you liked the kind of storytelling that was in End Of Watch then you’ll REALLY love this.

Special Features:

Alternate Endings – It’s very seldom that alternate endings are any good but here we have TWO alternate endings that are both actually pretty great.

Deleted Scenes – A good collection of scenes here that actually could’ve been left in and I wouldn’t have complained.

Making Sabotage – A quick feature that shows Schwarzenegger talking a bit about his experience on the film and wanting to work with Ayer after seeing End Of Watch.

Sabotage is available July 22nd on Blu-ray and DVD from Universal Studios Home Entertainment
