The Movie:

Super spy teams aren’t born…they’re hatched. Discover the secrets of the greatest and most hilarious covert birds in the global espionage biz: Skipper, Kowalski, Rico and Private. These elitists of the elite are joining forces with a chic undercover organization, The North Wind. Led by handsome and husky Agent Classified (we could tell you his name, but then…you know). Together, they must stop the villainous Dr. Octavius Brine, from destroying the world as we know it.

I love animated features just about as much as any kid does. They provide a great escape and are a perfect for a family movie night. This film is a spin off from the popular Madagascar franchise and well obviously follows the Penguins…..of Madagascar. I liked the fact that they showed a flashback to start the film and how they met “Private”. It was a nice, touching moment that set up what the underlining theme of the movie is. The story is perfect for everyone. It has action which is kind of surprising for an animated film like this and was super funny. It’s not often that I literally laugh out loud at a film like this. Although it did have some sweet moments it lacked the emotional connection that Pixar movies are known to have. That was the only thing that I saw wrong with it. Everything about this movie screams screams sequel potential and I don’t mean just one. They could easily take these characters and have them go on adventure after adventure and not to mention the possibility of spinning off The North Wind group. They could definitely turn them into an animated series. Every character in this film is so likeable and have their little quips….even the villain Dr. Brine. With this film being as good as it is I don’t see the need for another actual Madagascar film. They might as well spin other characters off as well, in fact it may just be better off that way. 8/10
