Endless Love: Blu-Ray Review

When beautiful Jade (Gabriella Wilde) meets charismatic David (Alex Pettyfer), her sheltered world of privilege is turned upside down as the pair’s instant desire sparks a reckless summer love affair. While Jade leaves behind her inhibitions and innocence as she falls for David, he works to prove himself worthy of her love. But when David’s mysterious past and Jade’s overprotective father threaten to tear them apart, their romance will be put to the ultimate test.

The Movie:

Over the weekend I found some time to unwind and catch this film. I’ll be honest, the previews that were out there initially almost drew me away from watching this movie. It seemed very typical and something that had already been done and I’m not the biggest fan of cheesy romances. Either way, I still wanted to see this movie and give it a fair chance. My initial review was that it was better than I expected. So much so that I’m going to tell my best friends to go watch it soon! The film gave me the feeling I get when I read a book. The chemistry between the two characters was extremely evident that I couldn’t help but smile when they exchanged moments. This is what kept my attention throughout the film. Yes, there were a few expected situations and its another bad boy dates good girl type of situation BUT there was more depth to their story. David (Alex Pettyfer) wasn’t a bad boy anymore. In fact his previous criminal history was justified. He beat the man that he caught his mother cheating with. I mean, honestly, how can you blame him for something like that. He had this honesty and nobility about him that made him so true and easy to love. And Jade (Gabriella Wilde) was no different. Her beauty and timidness gave her more appeal. She just looked like a girl ready to be loved and David was the one to take the initiative. Their story had some twists and turns, but in the end, their love story was epic. Of course, either teens can relate to this movie now or even adults can recall how it felt to fall in love for the first time. I found myself rooting for them and angry at Jade’s father (Bruce Greenwood) a million times. Then I stop for a moment and imagine how I would react if this was my daughter, and then I don’t hate him AS much lol. Overall, great movie and worth the watch!

My Likes: The chemistry between Pettyfer and Wilde. Enough said.

My Dislikes: Predictability. Again, the story had great moments that I truly loved, but you go in watching the film with an idea of what would happen next or even how it would all turn out. And I was about 75% right on my predictions.
