The Movie:

Determined to get engaged before her youngest sister’s wedding, flight attendant Montana Moore (Paula Patton) finds herself with only 30 days to find Mr. Right. Using her airline connections to “accidentally” meet up with eligible ex-boyfriends and scour for potential candidates, she racks up more than 30,000 miles and countless comedic encounters, all the while searching for the perfect guy.

I don’t mind a good romantic comedy here and there. They usually are pretty entertaining but can easily go the other way if not careful. This one falls right in the middle of both. It’s not that the film was bad or anything it just felt like it was too familiar and predictable. There was a moment in the beginning that allowed me to already know where the film was going and what was going to happen and when that occurs that’s not a good thing at all. It’s a shame though because I really like Patton. Her presence in her previous roles was astounding but here it just didn’t connect completely. One thing that she did do was play awkward and quirky pretty good. It made for some humorous moments that I feel saved the movie from becoming a bad one. Although the film was predictable I thought that the main story of Montana going on various flights to reconnect with ex-boyfriends was the unique aspect. The cast of characters that she encounters along the way brought substance to the film and made you curious as to what was going to be wrong with the next guy on the list. Like I had said previously, the film wasn’t a horrible one but I don’t think it had what it took to be great. With all of that being said it at least deserves a rental viewing because of some of the funny awkward situations in it.
