The Movie:
Jill’s an artist. Ian’s a filmmaker. And their love life is off the chain. There’s no experience too wild, no dare too dangerous — not even when Jill lets Ian strap her to a gurney in the abandoned hospital they’re scoping out for their next art show. But he shouldn’t have left her alone. Not even as a joke. Now, Jill’s hookup with horror has awakened something in that place. Something with a lust for more than flesh.
Not to be confused with the recent comedy release “Sex Tape”. In fact, I’m sure it was titled this way to coincide with the big budget comedy which you can’t really blame. I’m not a fan of the “found footage” kind of films too much so I was already going in to this film with a bad taste in my mouth. It follows the usual formula for at least half of the film but then it gets pretty crazy. I’m just going to put out a disclaimer before I start to say anything…Haha! I’m very certain that this film will have it’s audience, it just wasn’t for me too much. There’s lots of nudity in the first half of the film so if you’re a guy then that will be up your alley I assume. The performances in the film were actually really strong and believable for the most part so that was something I enjoyed but it’s the writing of the film that I really wish was able to be redone. It was EVERYWHERE! The mood switches of the characters were just a bit too much and didn’t make too much sense within the short amount of time. I really hate to say that it was due to poor writing because I feel like the art of writing is a task to do as it is but I just think that maybe the writer just didn’t get his point across properly. One thing is for sure though, the final scene of the film caught me off guard and actually had me cringe so it definitely did it’s job with that.
