Sophia Grace & Rosie’s Royal Adventure: Blu-Ray Review

The super-cute, talented two-some of Sophia Grace and Rosie sang and danced their way to stardom on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. In their first original live-action movie, the girls are sent to Switzelvania by The Ellen DeGeneres Show as special correspondents to cover the coronation of a new queen. Once there, they encounter very different princesses competing for the throne. Together, Sophia Grace & Rosie hatch a royal plot to help the best candidate win. Grab your microphone, put on your best tiara, and go on a splendidly fun-filled, exciting adventure fit for a princess.

Well I must have been under a rock because I had never heard of these cute little girls. Mind you, I love The Ellen Show but somehow missed these girls appearing on her show. So I checked out YouTube and low and behold, million of views on many of their videos. The girls sing and dance and are actually super cute doing it. This movie reminded me so much of the Mary Kate and Ashley adventures from way back in the days. The two have a loads of chemistry. The movie definitely had its cheesy moments, but its geared towards the younger crowd so I’m sure they can appreciate the silly factor. The movie does start as a real life depiction of their life but then the story comes in once they take a trip to Switzelvania where the adventure begins. They encounter a magical duck and visit the three princesses awaiting their father’s decision on who will be queen. This was very Cinderella like. There were two not so nice sisters and one sister who was the oddball of the bunch. The girls take it upon themselves to help Princess Abigail to become more lady like to gain her fathers acceptance. Though almost lost, the girls do achieve their goal of helping the new Queen Abigail successfully gain her throne. There were many musical aspects in the movie, which is to be expected since this is what made the girls famous. I would say Sophia Grace is very animated. She is made for the spotlight and does not shy away from getting noticed. Rosie is more of a sidekick, but still very important. The movie was cute and I would recommend it to anyone with younger children (the tweens might think its a bit too childish for them).
