Q&A with Theresa from Houston’s 94.5 The Buzz
Cinema Deviant recently had the chance to pick the brain of local radio DJ, Theresa from Houston’s Rock Station 94.5 The Buzz and we talked about the Danger Zone, Horror Movies, Soundtracks………and I think there was talk of leather pants and a gag ball somewhere in there.
Be warned. Haha!
CD: Music and movies go hand in hand. Films would be pretty dull without it. What are some of your favorite movie soundtracks?
T: The one that always pops into my head is the “Pump up the Volume” soundtrack. It was the first time I remember realizing that movie would not of been as amazing without those songs. The Pixies and Bad Brains plus Concrete Blonde were bands I honestly was introduced too through that movie. Such a fucking great soundtrack. I agree. Music MAKES A FILM. that’s why I will call out a song of I think it’s a good “Movie Moment” song. I get the visual of how and where it would be used.
CD: There have been rumors here and there about a sequel to Top Gun. What artist/band do you think could cover the hell out of Danger Zone?
CD: There have been a few biopics made about musicians. What would be one that you would be interested in seeing?
T: Easy! Stevie Nicks!!! She has a new docu coming out and I can’t wait. She’s a musical muse! She has married her music and has dedicated her life to it.
CD: What musician(s) would you like to see try their hand at directing a film?
T: Hmmm, I would have to say, Trent Reznor. That man is a genius. I make fun of him making music for his wife, but I admire him for being so innovative. Although, he would need to be in it wearing leather pants and a gag ball!
CD: What are some of your favorite movies?
T: The Notebook!! *Kidding* I would say Jeepers Creepers 2 is one of my favorite scary movies Evah! Shit. This is hard. I’ll say in recent years, The Sherlock Holmes movies are killer. Robert Downey and Jude Law were made to play off of each other.
CD: What horror movie scared the crap out of you when you were younger (or as an adult…lol)? 
T: Freddy Mother Fucking Krueger!!! When Tina was being thrashed around on the ceiling being sliced to a bloody pulp. Holy crap that freaked me out. Plus all the creepy kid scenes. Like Gage on Pet Cemetery … “I want to play with youuuuuu”. Ehhhh *shivers*
CD: If you could get one actress to play you in a movie about your life who would it be?
T: I would want Mila Kunis to play me. Her ‘take no shit’ Russian blood is similar to my “Take no shit” Italian traits. Plus she would make me look good! Ha! According to my boyfriend who has chimed in, “Kate Beckinsale in her Underworld outfit”.
CD: Maybe you could play your adult self in the movie. Ever thought about doing any acting?
T: Yes. I’ve wanted to be an actress since I was in Kindergarten. I would perform movie lines and act out movie skits at family gatherings. God, what a dork. I tried to start plays in high school and my first role was a dead person in “Our Town”. Ha Ha! I also played tennis and softball and volleyball and was a social butterfly so I had less time to do that stuff. So I never really pursued it.
CD: If someone handed you a bag of money and told you to make a movie, what would it be about?
T: I would EASILY do an “Almost Famous” type film, but insert my life story in there. I would call it, “Your Hair is on Fire”. Ha Ha! There have been so many party moments in my career and someone’s hair always caught on fire. Mine once.
CD: Any upcoming projects or events you would like to talk about?
T: I’ll be goat milking again this year at the [Houston] Rodeo. I’m hoping to shoot video and get someone to make a mini reality show. 1 episode. Ha!
