Season Overview:
Following the events of the first season, Season Two ups the ante of outrageousness, taking the show to a wide range of unexpected places. Highlights include the series’ first animated episode, finding the town attacked by a giant blob; a RINGU-inspired J-Horror episode; a Found Footage episode; and a one-hour season finale that will boast two special musical performances by the talented cast and a shocking final scene that will raise the dead. The second season will also feature some surprising twists and developments for the four main friends that will have a major impact on their lives and leave viewers anxious for more.
I honestly had no idea what to expect from this show but the thing that had me intrigued was the inclusion of all of my favorite horror actors and actresses. Once I saw that it peaked my interest even more. What I got was a funny sitcom that related directly to my sense of humor. It was great! There was everything there for the horror lover yet it wasn’t completely over saturated with the genre. There were the typical sitcom situations going on but the unique thing was the inclusion of these horror icons in roles that you wouldn’t normally see them. For instance, you see Derek Mears, Kane Hodder, Danielle Harris and Sid Haig as well as one of my favorite writers/directors James Gunn and they all play characters that are unlike anything they’ve ever played. For the dark characters they usually play it’s good to see that they can be pretty hilarious. In fact, it probably makes it ten times funnier BECAUSE of that. With all the guest stars that appear in the show you can’t forget the musician guests. Oderus Urungus (Dave Brockie) and Dee Snider have recurring characters in the show and provide some really good laughs throughout the season as well as being the guidance at times for the main characters. There are ten 25 minute episodes plus a Christmas Special that fly by so fast that it’ll definitely leave you wanting more. Adam Green and Joe Lynch have created a show that speaks to horror fans yet doesn’t alienate the casual T.V. show watcher. I think this show is something that every person could enjoy with lots of laughs and in the end lots of heart. This is a definite pick up! You won’t be disappointed!
