The Movie:
When a cafeteria food virus turns elementary school children into little killer savages, a group of misfit teachers must band together to escape the playground carnage. The film stars Elijah Wood, Rainn Wilson, and Alison Pill as teachers who fight to survive the most unruly students ever on the worst Monday of their lives!
It’s very hard for me to be impressed by zombie movies now-a-days because of the over saturation of the genre but I found the premise of a zombie outbreak because of a tainted chicken nugget to be hilariously interesting. Everything about it is a hilarious, fast paced horror film that I haven’t seen since the likes of Shaun Of The Dead. I loved the fact that the teachers that are thrown together because of the outbreak are each their own eclectic and weird characters. Each of them are entertaining in their own right and add plenty of comedic moments to the film. Wood has become somewhat of a genre film kind of actor and seems to be taking roles that are different or interesting and I like that about him. This was something that kind of came out of left field with familiar references but knocked it out of the park with originality so that made me want to pay close attention to the film. From start to finish this was such a fun experience that had me laughing every step of the way. I would easily recommend this to any horror fan or any comedy fan for that matter. I can guarantee that you’ll at least enjoy the absurdity of it all without a doubt. 8/10
