We’ve all experienced the Back to the Future films (if you haven’t then shame on you. Go watch them now!) and I could legitimately tell you where I was when I first saw the original film. It’s a film that, for the most part, shaped my childhood. After watching it for the first time my mind was blown at the possibility of time travel and that changing the past or making certain decisions could shape what you future ends up as. Then came the sequels. Part 2 was definitely a favorite of mine simply because of the futuristic premise. What kid wouldn’t completely become enamored with the thought of a future with flying cars, hoverboards, shoes with power laces (I want some of those now that they’re a reality) or Jaws 19. That film was an easy sell for me and always has me conflicted as to which one of the first two films is my favorite. We can’t forget Part 3 though. Sure it may not be the best out of the three films but it’s still pretty great in its own right. It’s basically a funny and witty western with some time travel thrown in. I love it when time travel films are done right and Back to the Future has it down pretty damn good. The main thing that I liked the most about all the films was the running gags that appeared through the trilogy like the manure, walking across Hill Valley’s square, the initial confrontations with the Tannen family and so many others. I’ve watched these films over and over and will continue to do so because now I have a 2 kids that just started to watch them as well. If you haven’t picked up this set or even if you have then I suggest picking up this definitive version (so far) for sure. 10/10
