Season Overview:
Meet Max (Kat Dennings), a witty and crude individual, who keeps her waitress job to stay afloat. She then meets Caroline (Beth Behrs), a once trust-funded girl with a run of bad luck, who takes a job at the diner with Max. These girls create an unstoppable connection and are soon roommates and close friends. Caroline discovers Max has a knack for baking cupcakes and teams up with Max to help her open a shop by saving as much money as they can. With the help of Han (Matthew Moy), Sophie (Jennifer Coolidge), Oleg (Jonathan Kite), and Earl (Garrett Morris), these girls find themselves filled with adventures and hopefully closer to their goal, owning a cupcake shop. Created by Michael Patrick King and Whitney Cummings
This show is absolutely hilarious! Mind you, I’m not a huge fan of comedies but this show completely won me over. I had a great friend of mine recommend the show to me when it first debuted, but I waited a while before I finally sat down to watch it. I came across a re-run episode several months back and had to stop the rigorous cleaning I was doing and just watch it its full hilarity. And who by chance was watching the show at my home and seemed to be a pretty big fan, you may ask? None other than my lovely mother in law! I say this because it just further emphasizes that this show is not only funny but has a wide range of fans. Max and Caroline are such a great balance to one another. Max is hard not to love, with her brutal honesty and numerous crude jokes, she brings a level to this show that many others can’t compete with. And I have a slight girl crush on Kat Dennings, so seeing her play this role is just perfect! And Caroline, oh Caroline, you see her and initially think this is just another “blonde bimbo” who is going to be the pin cushion for Max, but she has substance everyone! Let’s not forget she did attend Wharton and was born with a silver spoon in her mouth, but she has an amazing drive and seems to push Max out of whatever negative rut she may be in. This season was, at least to me, so much funnier than the first. The interesting cast and the super crazy scenarios these girls end up in kept me entertained. I don’t want to give out too many spoilers on this season, but I will share a few random details from this season. We find out Han is 29 years old! (I did say random lol) and I went to IMDB to verify his age, and what do you know, he’s 29! Earl has a Kings of Comedy type of son while Oleg is confused with his exclusivity with Sophie. Sophie is also a very generous tipper. Oh and lets not forget, we meet the super cute Candy Andy this season. Dreams are fulfilled and broken in this season, sadly. But these two girls always find a way to pick up one another and start over. I am a huge fan of this show and would suggest anyone to take a break from their rigorous cleaning, napping, cooking, studying, or whatever nonsensical thing your are doing and WATCH this show. You’ll be hooked!
