xXx – Return Of Xander Cage: 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Review
The Movie:
When a group of lethal mercenaries steal a hi-tech weapon that poses a global threat, the world needs superspy Xander Cage (Vin Diesel). Recruited back into action, Xander leads a team of death-defying adrenaline junkies on a mission to kick some ass, save the day, and look dope while doing it.
The previous xXx films are pretty straight forward and this one was no different. It’s a knock down, drag out action film with guns and lots of explosions. The main thing that I liked about it was the simple fact that I can watch it without having to think too much about the storyline. It pretty much lays everything all out for you on a platter so you can be left to enjoy it for what it is: A “Popcorn Flick”. Diesel kind of plays the same character throughout all of his films but it tends to work for the ones that he’s in. Although he was entertaining I truly enjoyed the supporting cast a whole lot more. Donnie Yen was by far my favorite simply for the reason that he brought a danger and excitement to his character that one one else could. Surprisingly enough Toni Collette was also very good in her role as a CIA Agent. I would’ve never pictured her to fit into a character like that so great but she certainly did. There’s so much going on throughout the movie and there are certain things that are so unbelievable that it’ll make you scoff and roll your eyes BUT those are also the things that make the movie so much fun. This is a solid action movie that will entertain the hell out of you even if it isn’t exactly the best movie out there. 7/10
4K Presentation:
This movie looked great in 4K. High concept action movies like this do really well in this format because there is so much to see within all the scenes. Everything from explosions to gunplay to motorcycle jetskis looked amazing and crystal clear. The vibrancy of colors were another major thing as well. There are certain landscapes that are tropical and HDR really makes it all pop nicely. This is without a doubt a great movie to experience in 4K.

I Live for This Sh#t!: Stunts – Pretty self explanatory. This is a look at the number of insane stunts that took place to make this film fun.
Gag Reel – A collection of missed cues, line flubs and just plain old goofing off on set.
