Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the title I reviewed. The opinions I share are my own.”

The Movie:

Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior.  Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.

The DCEU has had its fair share of hits and misses but this movie was the one that everyone (including myself) was anticipating. The film was definitely an origin story and lately I’ve grown kind of tired of those but in this case it was much different. We’ve never seen a big screen version of this character so it all felt fresh and new. The approach that was taken with telling this story felt proper. The story flowed just right and didn’t feel rushed. Gadot embodies Wonder Woman completely and she was such a joy to see on screen. I legitimately had goosebumps every time she was involved in a fight scene. There’s something magical about her presence and the way she came across and it left me wanting to see more. The only thing about the film that I didn’t like was her Lasso Of Truth. There was plenty of CG effects in the film but it was only when WW used the Lasso Of Truth in action scenes that it looked fake and like a cartoon. Other than that the film is hands down the best so far in the DCEU and is looking like it’s going to be shaping the rest of the films moving forward. 9/10

4K Presentation:

This film isn’t as dark as the other DC films so I feel like we really get to see the advantages of this format here. The best being the island of Themyscira and the lush greenery as well and the crisp water surrounding the area. The colors look very vibrant and clean throughout the film and HDR shows so much detail in some of the war torn scenes. Additionally the final battle looks quite impressive as well with shadows being more visible within the brightness of fire.

3D Presentation:

I love a good 3D film every now and then so of course Wonder Woman would be a no brainer to watch in the 3rd Dimension. There’s some really good depth between the foreground and background throughout the film but the best moments were during battle/action scenes. More specifically the Western Front battle as well as the scene versus Ares in the the finale.

Special Features:

Crafting The Wonder – A short documentary that includes film clips, cast interviews and behind the scenes footage.

A Director’s Vision – A 5-part feature that looks at shooting on location and the character of Diana experiencing everything for the first time.
