The Movie:

It’s the debut of an all-new, all-different Deathlok. Killer cyborgs have come from the future to kill the heroes of today, while Wolverine embarks on an international pub crawl with a certain recently reborn Sentinel of Liberty. Beer and bullets galore!

The Marvel Knights Animation releases have been impressive. These titles are based on some of the most interesting and best selling comic book stories and turned into motion comics. This story in particular I never got a chance to read so when I had the opportunity to check this out I definitely jumped at the chance. With Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D introducing Deathlok to the masses I’m glad that this story was picked. Deathlok is a force to be reckoned with and Tomorrow Dies Today showcases that so perfectly and things get even more intense when multiple Deathloks go running around killing people. Probably the funniest thing about the story was the way it begins. You have Wolverine and a newly brought back Captain America taking part in their very own pub crawl which made me chuckle a bit. The animation has gotten better and better with every Marvel Knights DVD release. There’s a lot more actual cartoon like animation present instead of just moving pictures which I appreciated. I really dug the cameos by other superheroes from the Marvel Universe like Nightcrawler, Spider-Woman, Bucky Barnes, Psylocke, Iron Fist, The Thing and Spider-Man. The story feels somewhat similar to The Terminator with the whole time travel aspect but I think the familiarity is what grabbed my attention. Let’s not forget about the Wolverine from the future that is running around with NO HANDS! Shout! Factory has done a phenomenal job at bringing out quality and entertaining products and this DVD was no different. From the overall packaging and interior artwork to the feature itself, you can’t go wrong with this one and is a “must have” for any Marvel fan. This gets the Cinema Deviant seal of approval!
