There’s something to be said about classic films and TV shows that provide thrills and creepiness. The Twilight Zone is one of those shows that (even to this day) creeps me out. I was floored from the beginning of the first episode (Where Is Everybody) to the end of the last episode (A World Of His Own). It had me intrigued so much at how complex and dark some of the stories were in this season and there were a few that dealt with some of the social commentary of that time period which included racial and political issues. Seeing stars like Burgess Meredith, Martin Landau, Roddy McDowall and Ron Howard in their prime or at the beginning of their career is such a treat for me. These are actors that I’ve seen in so many of my favorite films over the years and to see them in such a great series had me glued to the TV. As you watch the season it may suddenly become somewhat familiar to you. The reason for that is most for the more modern anthology series such as The Outer Limits, Tales From The Darkside and One thing that I liked was the inclusion of some to the bumpers from the original airing and the Rod Sterling preview for next weeks episode was a nice treat as well. Even though this release was on DVD all of the episodes look stupendous with little to no grain which I think constitutes as a great job considering how long ago these aired. With a running time of 15 1/2 hours rest assured that you will end up on your couch all day checking these classic episodes out not even realizing that time has flown by and this is only one season. The Twilight Zone: The Complete Series will be available with all 156 episodes of the classic series starting Nov. 19th. If you choose to pick that up you’ll definitely be lost in The Twilight Zone…….and you may never come back.
