The Hitman’s Bodyguard: Blu-ray Review
The Movie:
The world’s top protection agent (Ryan Reynolds) is called upon to guard the life of his mortal enemy, one of the world’s most notorious hit men (Samuel L. Jackson). The relentless bodyguard and manipulative assassin have been on the opposite end of the bullet for years, and are thrown together for a wildly outrageous 24 hours. During their raucous and hilarious adventure from England to the Hague, they encounter high-speed car chases, outlandish boat escapades, and a merciless Eastern European dictator (Gary Oldman ) who is out for blood. Hayek joins the mayhem as Jackson’s equally notorious wife.
When you watch the first 10 minutes of this movie you pretty much understand what to expect the rest of the way through. There’s plenty of action and silly slapstick comedy blended together in a really entertaining way. The plot plays out like a typical buddy comedy with Reynolds and Jackson working together but at the same time taking jabs at each other along the way. I’m a big fan of both actors but in all honesty they always play an amped up version of themselves every time and this time was no different. That’s not to say that they weren’t entertaining though. I thought that they had fantastic on screen chemistry and they compliment each other well. This isn’t going to be a film that makes a huge impression in the comedy genre but it is pretty funny and it’s a great movie to pop in if you’re in the mood for a good laugh. 7/10

Outtakes – Usually these kind of features are really hilarious (it is funny) but everyone for the most part seems to be semi-serious and apologetic with every flub.
Deleted Scenes – A few scenes here that aren’t too great but decent enough to check out if you liked the film.
Alternate Scenes – Only two scenes here that are pretty short.
Extended Scenes – Another couple of scenes that are okay to watch.
