Recap from Awkward, The Vampire Diaries, and Hart of Dixie for the weeks of 05/05 – 05/16…

Sorry for the delayed posts guys! Last weekend was mother’s day and I have two awesome kids so I get a pass…right? And well I was a bit heartbroken on these season finales that I needed a bit to collect myself. Anyhow, hope you enjoy the recap!

Season 4: Episode 4 “Sophmore Sluts” – Rivals emerge for Jenna and Tamara.

Season 4: Episode 5 “Overnight” – Jenna and Tamara go on an overnight college visit. Meanwhile, new rivalries and romances emerge at a party.

Oh how glad I am to see Awkward again! Have I said this before? For any newbies out there, go watch this show! In episode 4, Jenna is faced with the reality that she is no longer the creep of the crop. The Sophmore Sluts are out to gain all the attention from the Senior guys and Jenna eventually realizes that there is nothing she can do about it. Matty seems more distant and her rivalry with Eva increases after she caught her in his home. The two eventually make up (thankfully). Eva is still a mystery to me and we were given a glimpse of what she is capable of when she snapped the pic of Matty and Sadie. What will she do with that photo?? In the next episode, Jenna and Tamara visit their possible future college and Jenna is exposed to the college guys, their refinement and ability to speak properly is certainly an attraction for her. She hooks up with a guy only to have him still be into her and ask to see her again. Doesn’t this always happen? High school girls eventually realizing that high school boys are soooooo immature. Next week Tamara gets caught on her catfishing and her craziness will be exposed to the max. I know teenage girls can become obsessed with boys, but come on girls…..once its over, let that boy go! There are plenty of fish in the sea!

Season 5: Episode 21 “Promised Land” – Stefan and Elena become stranded in a remote location, after escaping from Markos, and he gets philosophical about her relationship with Damon. Meanwhile, Damon sets a trap for Markos; Bonnie admits that she’s been keeping the truth about the Other Side from everyone; and Caroline witnesses an unthinkable act of violence by one of the Travelers.

Season 5: Episode 22 “Home” – Season 5 ends with Damon trying to stop the disintegration of the Other Side. Meanwhile, Elena takes matters into her own hands and demands that Liv and Luke help her; and Markos uses violence against Tyler/Julian to prove that Mystic Falls is under the control of the Travelers.

Spoiler Alert: Ugh. UGH UGH UGH. So I caught up on both episodes back to back. I’m broken. As much as I say TVD loves to kill folks and then bring them back for the next episode, they sure as hell better find a way to bring Bonnie and Damon back! When Stefan “died” I started getting a bit panicky but there was still a whole episode left to bring him back. Now we have to wait months before we find out what will happen to Damon and Bonnie. Can I say though, I cannot stand Elena’s crying! I’m done!!! I would prefer a whole season without her tears. I may sound harsh, but good God that woman is the worst and ugliest crier ever! Anyway, the last two episodes were just what the season needed. Like I’ve said before, I go through my fits with this show but I felt so relieved to see two episodes that held it together and kept my attention. Now to give myself a bit of a detox from the TVD world. Maybe I should catch up on The Originals now?? I’ve been told I’m missing out. Until then!

Season 3: Episode 21 “Stuck” –  Wade’s father turns to Zoe for help with romance, but Wade cautions her not to get involved. Elsewhere, Lavon and George see the city comptroller about a billing issue; and Lemon attempts to publicize Fancie’s, but her plans all backfire.

Season 3: Episode 22 “Second Chance” –  In the third-season finale, Wade must make a hard choice about his future in the wake of Zoe’s grand gesture. Meanwhile, Lavon and George encounter their hero, Don Todd; and Grandma Bettie advises Lemon to conduct an earnest search for a husband.

Oh man oh man! The love triangles are still active and I just can’t get enough of it! On episode 21 we find Wade’s dad making a change for love. The whole theme of the episode is that anything is possible. Could that mean that Zade is once again possible??? Ohh I sure hope so. On the finale we are given just that bit more of hope when Wade turns down a franchising opportunity to stay in Bluebell. He tells Zoe not to read too much into it, but Wade we can’t help but think you stayed for Zoe because you love her just as much as she loves you! We all know it!! AnnaBeth confesses she is still in love with someone and we start to think that he (Lavon) could also still be in love with her. But NO! Are we all so wrong and boy did I not expect that ending. We are going to start the next season with George and Lavon still pining for Lemon! But maybe she will return with a new beau from her single’s cruise. We were all given hints that George still had feelings for Lemon, but Lavon too? And poor AnnaBeth!! She deserves love too! And then we get a whopper of an announcement that Crickett is gay. Because you know, there was no way her husband was going to confess the obvious! LOL I thought that was a cute nudge from the writers. Way to keep us on our toes. Even with all that mess, I’m happy with the finale. I can sleep better knowing there is still a chance for my favorite two lovebirds to be together again. I might have to have a marathon soon because I already miss my southern folk!
