The Movie:

When the newly adopted daughter of American couple Steven (Ryan Phillippe) and Shannon (Rachelle Lefevre) goes missing while the family is abroad, they quickly discover that all is not what it seems with the adoption agency – and find themselves in a fight for their lives when they encounter Benjamin (John Cusack) and Reigert (Jacki Weaver), the culprits behind a high-stakes human-trafficking ring. To expose the truth and save their daughter, Steven and Shannon will have to risk everything…including their lives.

With a film named Reclaim you already kind of have an indication of what is to come but it’s how they get to that point is what counts. Right from the start you get little hints here and there that something doesn’t seem entirely right. Then of course comes Cusack’s character and starts to befriend the couple and that’s when you KNOW that things are about to go south. I liked the way that the story unraveled even though it was fairly predictable. As it progressed revelations started to happen that kept me watching intently and having a story involving a scheme such as this grounds the film a lot more to reality. The performances from Phillippe and Lefevre were the driving force of the film and actually had me on edge with their mission to get their daughter back. There were some cheesy moments but they were both pretty solid for the most part as the film picked up. Cusack’s roles in recent films have been subpar to say the least but this film gives him some room to really let loose and play with his character a bit. It was actually pretty refreshing to see him play a ruthless villain. I didn’t know if I was actually going to like this film but it was a pleasant surprise with some predictability but lots of great suspenseful moments. If you are looking for something interesting to check out then I suggest you give this a viewing.

Behind the Scenes of Reclaim – Your standard behind the scenes feature with interview snippets from the cast.

Deleted and Extended Scenes – A few good scenes here and there that were understandably cut from the film.

Interviews with Cast and Crew -Pretty self explanatory with interviews that include Ryan Phillippe, Rachelle Lefevre, Jacki Weaver and Briana Roy.
