Season Overview:

Marine Sgt. Nicholas Brody (Lewis) is now a U.S. congressman, and former CIA agent Carrie Mathison (Danes) has returned to civilian life. But when a new and potentially devastating terrorist threat emerges, Brody and Carrie’s lives become intertwined once again and they resume their delicate dance of suspicion, deceit and desire. Delve deeper into the edge-of-your-seat excitement with the thrilling second season of this hit show.

Homeland is a show like no other. In this day and age and how the world is now a show like this was bound to happen. The creators have a made a show so compelling to watch and it continues in the second season. Damian Lewis has breathed life into his character and makes you feel sorry for him in a sense. Besides the terrorist aspect of the show it gives you a look at the PTSD side of a soldier and how they have to readjust to civilian life. Some take to it better than others and some lose a part of themselves. It’s an underlining part of the main plot that lingers in the background that you just can’t ignore. The shows treads this grey area that somewhat makes you feel guilty at times for rooting for the main character Brody. At the same time you see Brody and the look in his eyes and you realize that this man is far from stable. When a show can make you question yourself and your emotions then that’s when you know there is something special. Claire Danes has reached a new level as an actress and has exceeded my expectations once again. Her drama filled performance makes you feel exactly what she’s feeling and you can see the maniacal look in her eyes in between the moments of intensity in her scenes at times. The show is rounded out by a supporting cast (Morena Baccarin, David Harewood, Diego Klattenhoff, Jamey Sheridan, Mandy Patinkin, Rupert Friend ) that compliments itself very well. It’s easy to see why this show has garnered so much attention and hopefully will continue to. I see so much potential in this series and it sound extreme to say but I think something drastic needs to happen (those that have seen the series so far might know what I mean) to push it along. The finale was something I didn’t expect and will definitely leave you with your jaw dropped. I can’t wait to see where Brody and Carrie’s story goes next.
