Jeremiah Kipp provides us with a 10 minute look into a struggle between two people trying to uncover a truth yet each have a different perception of reality.

Here is the official synopsis:

“The Days God Slept” is a cinematic prayer that deals with love and secrets; with faith and acceptance.  Kristy (Lauren Fox) has a secret to tell John (Malcolm Madera) and when she does – will their burgeoning ties of affection be strengthened or severed? Or will they find that the hardest thing to accept might be oneself?

From the start I fell in love with this short. The look and feel of it was similar to that of Darren Aronofsky which immediately grabbed my attention. The story is something like I’ve never seen before in a short. It leads you down a road with plenty of questions and not a whole lot of answers but sometimes (like in this case) it’s a good thing. I feel like this short gives you the basic groundwork of the story but lets you interpret things for yourself. I found myself watching it a little more than a handfull of times just to see if I possibly missed something or could take something different from the short. Even though I had a few theories on things it doesn’t take away from the fact that this was a beautifully constructed piece of work. The score by Harry Manfredini (who scored many of the Friday The 13th films) was haunting and exuded an almost mysterious feel to it. It was a perfect companion to this piece. If you get an opportunity to see this short then I suggest you do it and when you do, come back here and let me know what you all thought of it and your interpretation of the story.
