The Movie:

LA playboy Dean (Skylar Astin) is fed up with one-night-stands and empty relationships – he wants more out of life than just a party. With a little inspiration from his nine-year-old nephew and his best friend Tess (Camilla Belle), Dean decides to try his hand at finding true love for the first time – which proves to be much more difficult than he thought in modern-day Los Angeles.

The film quickly sets the tone with the group of friends sounding like the stereotypical L.A. type of guys that are completely full of themselves and are all about partying. I’ll just come right out and say it, the relatable in the sense that it just seems like a group of 20-somethings but it can get somewhat annoying if you aren’t able to tolerate it. The saving grace of the film was Astin’s character. He has enough of a charming disposition to keep you rooting for him and wanting him to get the girl. Speaking of the girl, Belle is such a fantastic addition to a film that is full of testosterone. She proves that she has what it takes to shoot back just as much as the guys can dish out which balances everything out…..it doesn’t hurt that she’s drop dead gorgeous either. The film has the premise of a guy just looking for the right person to love but it’s also a lot about friendship and transitioning themselves into more serious relationships (well except Chad Michael Murray’s character). Cavemen is a movie that any young guy would be able to enjoy and the humor is that of a raunchy sitcom which I certainly dug. If you’re into that sort of thing then I suggest you give this a view.

Special Features:

No features here which was a bit disappointing but it was an enjoyable film nonetheless.

Cavemen is available NOW on Blu-ray and DVD from Well Go USA Entertainment
