The Movie:

After 12 years of suffering mysterious disappearances of society’s most-productive individuals, the nation’s economy is on the verge of collapse. As the government pursues policies imposing even greater brutality against those remaining, Dagny Taggart, Vice President of Taggart Transcontinental, must make a choice between saving the nation’s collapsing infrastructure or the man she has come to love – the man who would stop the motor of the World.

I hadn’t read any of the Ayn Rand novels that the Atlas Shrugged films were adapted from so I have nothing to compare it to at all. Some people may see that as a bad thing but I see it as looking at the film itself in a fresh way. This film is the third and final film in the series and pretty much continues on from where the other left off. You can tell right away that the film is trying to put an important message across but it does it in a way that causes it to be constantly being thrown in your face. I don’t usually have a problem this kind of thing but it becomes too apparent when some of the acting of random people is dull and sounding like they are being fed lines to convince the viewer of this. I feel like this film could’ve been way better if maybe some of the dialogue had been stronger. I don’t want it to seem like I’m bashing this film completely. One of the great things that came out of it was the interaction between Kristoffer Polaha and Laura Regan. They have a chemistry that is very evident and it plays really well in their scenes together. Unfortunately that was the only thing that kept me watching. As much as I hate to say it, this wasn’t my cup of tea but watch it if you must. 4/10
