Season 3 serves up sweet surprises for two of Brooklyn’s hottest waitresses, Max (Kat Dennings) and Caroline (Beth Behrs), who continue to dish up sarcasm and smarts. They’ve got a new cupcake business at the diner’s back walk-up window, and Caroline and Max negotiate a work-study program at the Manhattan School of Pastry: Caroline works in the office so Max can study professional baking. Plus, love – and the aroma of freshly cooked tarts – is in the air! Caroline has the hots for the school’s hunky master chef and Max falls head over sticky buns for the outrageous class clown. The girls still worry about money – but their friendship is worth a million bucks. Sit back and savor all 24 outrageous and witty episodes iced with scandal and laughs!

The Show:

Oh Max! Oh Caroline! Season 3 opens up with a quick pop culture recap from Max and oh these writers, so witty as always. Being from Texas, of course when Max shouts out “…Texas hates women” I paused for a bit. Then I thought ohhh and realized that’s one thing I love about this show. It has its share of serious crude humor, but it’s also very real moments as well. This duo is just the perfect combination of naughty and nice. We get to see the girls get their cupcake business back, fall in love, fall out of love, win some money, lose some money, but never ever lose sight of one another. The comradery between the pair is genuine and the chemistry is hard to miss. I love that each episode is done in such short doses (21 minutes or so) that it makes it easy to watch one and walk away or watch like ten. I can relate to so many thing the girls encounter, because who isn’t broke now in days? It’s hard to not get seriously addicted to the humor and the heavy amount of pure sarcasm at its best. I really enjoyed this season and can’t wait to catch up to season 4 this week!

My Likes: I really enjoyed the relationship/crush that Max had with Deke. He was a male version of Max but oh so adorable. It was time for Max to have someone there, even if he was only temporary. I also really liked that Max came to a realization this season on growing up and realizing some of her dreams. She is a stubborn one but Caroline is finally starting to rub off on her and allowing her to open herself up to more possibilities.

My Dislikes: The whole married man situation with Caroline was not cool. I just want these two girls to find a really nice guy. At first the Chef seems like a nice fit and then with a snap of a fingers, he no longer is. Of course, this story might help spice of the story some, but isn’t time for Caroline and Max to find something real? Not sure if I will see this in the next season, because really if you think about it, should they find true love — would they continue to be 2 broke girls?

Special Features:

Deleted Scenes – Always fun to watch — and also have an awkward moment or two.

Gag Reel – Love seeing these because you know these gals/guys MUST be funny in real life…right?
